In 2005 Juventuz was placed under new management and received a complete
makeover. Unfortunately this also meant that all of the content, some of
lasting value, was removed. This archive is a means to bring the site back
online the way it was in 2005, but in archival form. There will not be any
updates made to this archival site.
The old site is back online, and by and large all the old content is
restored. However, highly time sensitive content (like news, columns, match
reports, league standings and so on) is outdated at this point and
therefore no effort was made to restore this in full (news archives for
instance).
Furthermore, at the time when this version of the site was live, we
relied on any number of other suppliers for features like livescores,
match forecasts, site search and so on. These suppliers have mostly either
shut down or removed our site from their services, so these pages will
show up quite blank.
Interactive features like the juventuz.com email service, the
newsletter and the prediction game have long since been shut down.
There are plenty of things left that stand the test of time, like
everything in the history
section, the club section, the
image gallery,
the wallpapers,
many of the goals in the
video gallery
are still online, as well as the
featured articles.
In short, browse around and you'll find a lot to discover!
If you are interested in the history behind Juventuz, you ought to see

Why sell?
I started my first Juventus fan site in 1997, entitled "The
Unofficial Juventus site". It was online for about a year
before I lost interest in keeping a site because it was too
much upkeep. In the years that followed I worked on various
web projects and gained some skills that would later allow me
to build a much better fan site than The Unofficial Juventus
site ever was. In 2000, there were several quality fan sites
around and they inspired me to start my own. I did just that
and thus Juventuz was born. Those who know me a long time know
that I had tremendous passion for this project, I spent hours
and hours every week, sometimes every day in the early stages.
Juventuz as it is today is a product of careful planning, quite
a bit of experience and lots and lots of work. Once the forum
was started, a new workload was added in the form of recruiting
new members and moderating discussion threads.
5 years down the road, Juventuz is alive and thriving. I have
yet to find a Juventus fan site in English with more traffic
or more people participating in the forum. To date this is the
biggest English language fan site (and has been for some time)
and everyone who has helped make that happen is very proud of
what we have accomplished. My contribution was fouding, building
and running the site, others have posted news, written articles
and helped moderate the forums. I'd like to thank everyone for
the effort they have made towards this cause!
But there comes a time when you have to move on to other things.
I had a tremendous drive to run this site in the past 5 years
but that drive has run out. I never would think for a second
it would last this long but inevitably everything comes to an
end. I know this site is a home to many fans and I would hate
to see it die. But I have decided to end my involvement here
because enough is enough.
What you get
The time has come to put the site up for sale. I seek bidders
who have long term plans with the site, those who intend to
run it long term rather than close it soon. What you get is:
+ a technically well functioning site which requires little
upkeep
+ the biggest English speaking Juventus community online
+ my support in the transition phase to help you get settled

FAQ
Due to questions received about this sale, I decided to ammend
a faq section here. If you have any others, ask me and I'll
add them here.
Q. Do you own all rights to juventuz.com?
Yes, I do. There is a single owner. I own the domain name, pages,
images, the vbulletin licence to the forum etc.
Q. What comes with the site?
+ all the pages of the site
+ all the files on the server, including graphics and scripts
+ the complete forum database w/ a backup script
+ my account to the server, you take over the site as is
+ the domain name juventuz.com which I own, I will transfer
it to you
+ my vbulletin licence to run the forum
Q. What rights do you want as the founder?
None. If you buy the site you are free to do whatever you want
with it, no clauses, no limitations, it's yours 100%. I seek
serious buyers and I reject bidders at my discretion but once
you take over I have no jurisdiction nor do I wish do have any.
NOTE: You are not at liberty
to strip my name from any page or image where it may feature.
You may indicate who the owner of the site is with your name
but you shall not make any efforts to remove traces of my work
and involvement in this site.
Every page on this site has a meta tag indicating the author
of the page. If you make changes to a page, you are welcome
to add your name in a tag alongside mine but as long as there
is any original code (or content) on the page, my name shall
remain. If you create new pages then obviously this requirement
doesn't apply.
Q. What expenses does juventuz.com have?
Depending on where you wish to host the site, it will most likely
cost you in the range of $50-$100/month. We currently host with
www.rusko.us.
I strongly suggest that if you wish to host elsewhere, you have
experience with hosting large sites or you seek advice from
someone who does because it's not a trivial issue.
The renewal cost for the domain name is $15/year.
Q. What technical skills are required to run juventuz.com?
I built this site as a hobby, I never had any training, I learnt
everything I needed to know on my own. If I could do it, you
can too. But it does take years. So if you're not experienced
with web publishing, I really don't see the point of buying
a site unless you plan to hire someone to run it for you.
Q. How much upkeep does the site need?
The site was designed so that it would require minimal upkeep.
+ news section: everyday or a few times per week, ~10-20 mins
+ article section: whenever you want to publish an article,
~5 mins
+ prediction game: every week, ~15 mins
for the above no technical skills are required, handled with
web forms
+ club section with squad and player profiles: end of season,
during transfer window, ~2-3 hours
skills required: html and ftp/sftp
+ running the forum: continually
several moderators hired from among the members, no technical
skills needed
